Steakwallet Releases v1.5

Quick Summary

Another week, another massive Steakwallet release. Welcome Steakwallet 1.5 🎉 🥩

After adding our new porftofolio view and support for Ethereum & Celo assets, we've gone ahead and increased the blockchains we support with this update by including:

• 600+ Solana tokens

• 100+ Avalanche tokens

• 30+ Fantom tokens

As our goal is to be a true "omni-chain" wallet at some point, supporting different blockchains and the associated token standard is very important to us.

Steakwallet now also supports WalletConnect V1 and V2, allowing every Steakwallet user to use their favorite EVM compatible dApps. As more projects upgrade and support WalletConnect V2, Steakwallet users will be able to continue using Steakwallet without issues.

Adding support for even more assets

600+ Solana tokens added

With the Solana ecosystem growing quickly, we want to make sure you can add your favorite SPL tokens in Steakwallet. Having added support for SOL staking, it was a logical next step to start supporting more Solana assets. Solana is a smart contracts platform with a focus on quick transactions to allow for user-friendly dApps — something we at Steakwallet like to see.

100+ Avalanche tokens now supported

We've also added support for 100+ Avalanche assets. Avalanche is another fast smart contracts platform that has seen quick growth in the last couple of months so we are excited to support more Avalanche assets. Avalanche is also a Proof-of-stake protocol and we will evaluate supporting native AVAX staking in the future.

30+ Fantom tokens

Fantom is the another fast open-source smart contracts blockchain with a focus on multi-chain. We've added support for 30+ Fantom tokens, including FTM, and are excited to see where Fantom will head in the future. Similar to AVAX, FTM is also stakable so we'll be keeping a close eye on it.

Support for more assets on other blockchains is coming in future updates.

Steakwallet now supports WalletConnect

Steakwallet now supports WalletConnect. With version 1.5, we've added support for WalletConnect V1 and V2. This means you can use Steakwallet across a range of applications across various networks, including but not limited to:

• Ethereum: Uniswap, Curve, Aave, Pool Together, Sushi, Yearn

• Celo: Pool Together, Ubeswap, Sushi

• Avalanche C Chain: Pangolin Exchange, Trader Joe, Sushi

• Fantom: Sushi, Curve

Supporting WalletConnect now allows everyone to explore all the opportunities DeFi and dApps have to offer. We're super excited for this next step in making Steakwallet the only wallet you need.

💡 Note: Not many applications support WalletConnect V2 just yet, however, as they roll out you will continue to be able to use Steakwallet without interruption.
